It is my honour and privilege to be nominated a President of the Nottingham Institute over the next 12 months.  I wish to congratulate Joanne Marriott on her achievements over the last two years of her Presidency, and I am so pleased the she is remaining on Council as our Treasurer and continuing to serve the institute with her invaluable experience. I am also very pleased to announce that our Deputy President will be Claire Kitchinson and we are both looking forward to working together over the next 12 months.

This year we are celebrating our 125th Anniversary which is an amazing achievement, whilst I myself am celebrating 25 years within our industry.  We have some very exciting plans for our 125th year, with an Annual Dinner at the prestigious Colwick Hall, the return of our infamous InsurED Education Conference in the Autumn, plus many more Social Events including our Football Tournament later this year.  Please keep a look out for these events as we will be releasing the dates of each event over the next few weeks. 

It is safe to say that the last few years have been difficult but I feel a great sense of hope that we are finally back to ‘normal’ and we shall continue with our programme of CPD events, both virtual and face to face throughout this year to assist all members with their CPD needs.

What we aim to do as an institute is threefold – to support members, to support employers and to support insurance professionals to achieve their aims and objectives within our industry. I feel that it is very important that we engage with and support employers, because we are a valuable resource for employees to help them achieve qualifications and continue the professional learning that they need.
