Additional information

See below for relevant additional information regarding format and enrolment preferences.

All of our learning products (with the exception of printed study text/key facts booklets) are delivered via the CII’s RevisionMate system. You will have a fixed amount of time to access this content on your RevisionMate course, depending on which product you purchase. When your enrolment for a product expires, you will no longer be able to access the accompanying RevisionMate course online. Any downloaded files will never expire, although they will not be valid for future syllabuses.

We would advise that you familiarise yourself with the course expiry date (and any assignment deadlines within the course) as soon as possible after purchase so that you can plan accordingly. You can see this expiry date on your RevisionMate course.

Study text

Digital study text– a printable PDF and ebook of the study text are available on RevisionMate. Online updates to the study text will also be made available (further details are included on the first page of the study text).

Printable PDF – this can be opened and printed with Adobe Acrobat Reader (free download from http://www.adobe.com). You can also view a PDF on most portable electronic devices including Android tablets/smart phones, Kindles and iPads/iPhones.

Please note due to limitations with Adobe Acrobat Reader for Mobile and some other mobile apps, printing, commenting, and highlighting within our study text PDFs may not work. Other mobile apps may work, but we are unable to make any recommendations or offer support.

We recommend that you use Adobe Acrobat Reader for Desktop, or other desktop PDF reader, to add notes and comments to your study text PDF. You can also download the ebook version of the study text and you should be able to add comments and notes using an appropriate device and ebook reading app.

ebook (EPUB format) – this is compatible with most portable electronic devices including Android tablets/smart phones, Kindles and iPads/iPhones. It can also be viewed on desktop and laptop computers using EPUB reader software (required).

ebooks are not PDF files and cannot be printed. The reading experience will depend on the portable device used or the reading software installed, if viewed on a computer.

To check that the EPUB format is compatible with your device/chosen e-reader software, you can visit the ebook sample page to view important technical information and download a sample file.

Printed study text – if you opt for a printed study text, you will incur postage and packaging charges, which will be applied at checkout.

Revision Aids

Key facts booklets (Available for R01–6, ER1, FA1, FA2, CF1, CF6, IF111, FIT, LM13, M05, M80, M81, M85 and M92)

Summarising the key information contained in the study text, a key facts booklet is more portable than a study text and is perfect for just focusing on the high-level syllabus requirements. Available in digital (ebook and printable PDF) and printed formats. Please see ‘Study text’ section above for more details.

E-learn – digital only (Available for R016, CF1, CF6, IF18, FIT)

Delivered via RevisionMate, this online tutorial provides interactive study, backed by an assessment tool to check understanding as you progress with your studies. This is designed to complement, not replace, the primary study text. It provides visually engaging and therefore memorable learning. It covers key and difficult topics only, not the entire syllabus.

Due to content formatting, the tutorial is best viewed on a tablet or larger screen size. Try the course demo here, which is based on IF5.

Minimum system requirements:

  • Operating system: Windows/MacOS/Android/iOS devices.
  • Web browser: Latest versions of Chrome/Safari/Firefox/Edge.

Knowledge checker – digital only (Available for R015, CF1, CF6, IF111, FIT, LM13, PL14)

Delivered online through RevisionMate, each Knowledge Checker contains between 150 and 300 questions (depending on the unit) and provides comprehensive, flexible and interactive self-testing of the unit study text. Question feedback is provided in the form of a chapter reference to the specific areas being tested in the official CII study text for the unit.

A knowledge checker is designed to support your learning by testing your understanding as you progress through your studies. Please note, Knowledge Checkers are not past papers. While questions are designed to check knowledge of the unit study text to assist with your learning, they are not a product of the same development process as the actual CII examination question bank and are not intended to be used as mock exam questions.

This is an online-only product and the tests cannot be printed.

Audio revision (Available for R016, AF1, AF4, AF7)

MP3 audio material for R0 units covers the key elements of each subject. The AF options cover key Diploma learning points that underpin application at Advanced level, together with exam technique guidance. Delivered via RevisionMate, audio files are simple to download and are ideal for on-the-go study.

Video revision (Available for R06 and AF5)

Accessed via RevisionMate, there will be a series of videos addressing the main themes of the case studies (R06) or fact-find (AF5) and the associated technical knowledge that could be covered in the exam. These will be released over the two weeks prior to the exam. The delivery schedule is available on RevisionMate after purchase, and the approximate duration of the programme is 4 hours (subject to content of the released case studies/fact-find).
