Product Simplification
A key change for the insurance sector which has been highlighted in recent years due to the Covid-19 pandemic has been the lack of clarity around products and the need to simplify cover, communication and guidance. Simplified product design and delivery allows customers to better understand their coverage and helps improve customer confidence.
The Chartered Insurance Institute has collaborated with Lloyd’s and the Lloyd’s Market Association to create two introductory-level courses on Product Simplification. The courses introduce the use of Design Thinking as a framework and are designed to help you revise your approaches to product design, sales and distribution to achieve improved customer outcomes.
Product Simplification: Product Design looks at how to revise approaches to the design and development of products and product documentation.
Product Simplification: Sales and Distribution helps to revise approaches to the design and development of sales and distribution processes.
Please note, these courses contain similar content but apply learning to different practical scenarios. The Product Design module is likely to be most relevant to those involved on the manufacturing side, and the Sales and Distribution module for those involved in distribution, advice and intermediation. We highly recommend that you select one course only to study.
